Mediterranean Revival Mansion

The historic Siebert House on Seattle's Capitol Hill is a remarkable example of a 1920's Mediterranean Revival mansion adapted to a steeply-sloping site in a northern climate. Designed by the prominent firm of Schack, Young & Myers, the house was completed by 1922. The large in-city site allowed the architects to explore the design possibilities of the Mediterranean Revival style in a terraced plan on multiple levels, with landscape elements integrated with the overall architectural assemblage. Stephen Day Architecture prepared an extensive historical analysis and documented the building in preparation for a potential National Register of Historic Places listing and restoration of this significant historic property.
